OpenView is hosting a luncheon panel and networking event focused on demystifying the world of venture capital, aimed at young people of color with entrepreneurial interests. The panel will begin promptly at 12pm and last one hour, followed by an hour long networking session at the OpenView office overlooking the water of Boston’s scenic Seaport.
The panelists will be exemplary local venture capitalists with extensive experience around the racial nuances of the industry. Specific panelist details are to be announced at a later date.
Topics of discussion will include, but are not limited to:
– An overview of venture capital and general fundraising terminology
– What it means to give up equity of your business
– How venture capitalists evaluate potential investments
– Additional challenges young people of color face in the capital fundraising process
Attendees should expect to gain a deeper look into the Venture Capital industry during the panel with tips about navigating the space as a young person of color.
