There is little doubt the best minds in the world drive the success of the Biotech industry, and accessing this rarefied talent pool is crucial for innovation & growth.

By restricting the process, options and rights of foreign scientists and other biotech professionals trying to work in the US legally, there is great concern how current immigration policies impact our industry and patient care in general.

From startups to big pharma, device to medicine – all feel the effects of these hurdles facing workforce management, scientific strategy and the unpredictability of adjudication in this climate.

This Forum will review the changing landscape of employment-based immigration laws, policies, and processes, as well as discuss key strategies for dealing with the hiring and retention of foreign national employees. Specific topics will include:

  • What do you need to know about immigration laws, policies, and processes?
  • How do recent changes in immigration laws, policies, and processes affect the industry?
  • There is now less than a 50% chance of obtaining an H-1B in the lottery – what are the alternatives?
  • What methods can you utilize immediately to expedite the complicated process of obtaining visas and Green Cards?
  • How can you effectively deal with the concerns of a foreign national trying to work in the U.S. legally?
  • What policies or practices can you implement to ensure that foreign national employees will want to stay, and won’t leave after spending considerable time, effort, and money on their cases?

Bring your questions, share your experiences and join the conversation.
