Join BostInno and the Boston Business Journal for Scale Up: Boston sponsored by CDW. Our panel of entrepreneurs will share the successes, key lessons learned, and the obstacles faced while building a thriving startup. Throughout the conversation, CDW will share insights on the impact technology has on scaling a business. Following the panel discussion, we’ll breakout into mentoring tables steered by business leaders offering guidance and answering question on topics from funding to talent development. The panel and mentoring will be flanked by networking and the opportunity to learn more about the latest business technologies while enjoying the open bar and hors d’oeuvres.

Larry Begley, Chief Financial Officer, CloudHealth Technologies

Larry Begley is a seasoned operating executive, venture capitalist, private and public company board member, and CFO of the Year honoree. His career spans 35+ years of building successful companies, investing in them, driving strategic and IPO exits and serving on their boards of directors. Prior to CloudHealth Technologies, Larry co-founded .406 Ventures, an early-stage venture capital firm investing in innovative technology companies with more than $650 million under management. Boston-based .406 Ventures participated in CloudHealth Technologies first two rounds of venture funding where Larry served on the Board of Directors for 3 years. Prior to co-founding .406 Ventures, Larry worked for more than 25 years as a senior executive in start-up and scale technology and services companies. He has served on the board of directors of 17 companies, including five public and 12 venture-backed companies. He served as Chief Financial Officer at CCBN.com, i-Cube and Razorfish. 

Christina Luconi, Chief People Officer, Rapid7

Christina Luconi leads Rapid7s strategic people initiatives as its Chief People Officer.  She is responsible for the entire employee lifecycle, with critical focus on recruiting stellar talent, building and inspiring corporate culture, acquisition integration and scaling with soul.  Prior to joining Rapid7, Christina was the owner of People Innovations, an independent consulting firm focused on the creation of innovative people strategies for start-ups and high growth companies, primarily in the high technology industry.  Christina also served as Chief People Officer at @stake and she played the role of Vice President of People Strategy at Sapient Corporation. Joining the company prior to its public offering, she was responsible for building the people-focused side of the company from the ground up, aligning business strategy with people needs. Christina has been featured in several articles and is a frequent speaker regarding her visionary approach to people strategy and culture, and for her disdain for old-school human resources. She is currently an investor and advisor to CultureHQ, and partners with CEOs of early stage companies on their people strategies.

Debbie Millin, Chief Operating Officer, Globalization Partners

Debbie Millin is the Chief Operating Officer at Globalization Partners, a global Employer of Record which helps companies expand into more than 150 countries without the hassle of setting up overseas branch offices and subsidiaries. With 20 years of operational, project management, and client relationship experience in a variety of industries, Debbies specialization is supporting companies experiencing rapid growth scale their systems and processes. She is also a contributing writer for Forbes.com, focusing on issues surrounding scaling and globalization.  Debbie has helped grow Globalization Partners to be the No. 1 fastest growing women-led company in America and has helped two companies achieve the honor of No. 1 fastest-growing private company in Boston including Globalization Partners in 2017. Just prior to joining Globalization Partners, her consulting firm, offering part-time COO services, was named in Boston Business Journals Startup Watch: Five to Follow.

Steve Fredette, President and Co-Founder, Toast

Founder at Toast – building restaurant technology for the mobile era. Passionate about technology, entrepreneurship and building great teams and products. Contributed to the success of Endeca in a number of roles, from 2005 through the $1.1 billion Oracle acquisition (Oracle’s 6th largest acquisition.) Began starting companies in college, including one that competed with Facebook in 2004.
