The Hidden Power of Local Manufacturing to Accelerate Your Startup’s Growth

December 13, 2018 @ 4:30 pm - 5:30 pm

  • This event has passed.

The journey from viable product to scale production can be a treacherous one. Successful startups understand how to leverage existing assets and experience as part of the scale-up process to dramatically decrease time-to-market while simultaneously reducing exposure to committed capital expense and the temptation to “skip steps” when scaling.

Massachusetts has a strong local manufacturing base within 60 miles of Kendall Square that is a greatly underused asset, with expertise in circuit board manufacturing, plastic and rubber injection molding, and precision medical device manufacturing, to name a few.

In this talk Dr. John Carrier will discuss the local manufacturing landscape and his colleague, Stamatis Astra, will discuss the capabilities of his group of manufacturing companies (www.plasticmoldingmfg.com; www.elecmechtech.com) with the capabilities, know-how, and commitment to help entrepreneurs successfully navigate the Scylla and Charybdis of scale-up.
